Working in a green industry naturally means we have a deep appreciation for green spaces. For years, I’ve dreamed of having an indoor living green wall, a feature that not only enhances the workspace but reflects our commitment to sustainability. After months of careful planning and collaboration, that dream has finally become a reality.
With the expertise of our in house Simpson & Partners gardener, Tracey, we completed the installation and planting of a truly unique living green wall. Standing 6ft by 9ft, this stunning vertical garden consists of 120 individual plants, housed in small pots, cascading beautifully down a first floor wall overlooking the factory floor.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this green wall serves a practical purpose it actively improves air quality, creating a fresher and healthier work environment. Additionally, it provides natural sound dampening, helping to soften noise levels within the workspace.

If you’re considering creating a living green wall for your factory, office, or workspace, there are a few key factors to keep in mind. Light levels are crucial, not all spaces have adequate natural light, and certain plants require additional support. To solve this, we installed six Sansi light bulbs that provide both blue and red spectrum light, ensuring healthy plant growth. Proper irrigation is equally important, watering must be precise! We use an automated system that prevents both overwatering and underwatering, keeping our plants thriving. Lastly, choosing the right plants makes all the difference. Beyond aesthetics, it's important to select varieties that can adapt to an indoor environment some species struggle in artificial settings, so opting for resilient, low maintenance plants ensures long-term success.
Our green wall has already transformed the space, enhancing air quality and providing natural sound dampening, proving that a little greenery can go a long way in creating a healthier and more enjoyable workspace!
