At Simpson & Partners, we’ve designed our EV chargepoints to blend seamlessly into your home setup while offering practical, user-friendly features. Whether you’re plugging in for the first time or tweaking your charging routine, here’s a closer look at what your unit brings to the table.

Bespoke Metal Body in Your Chosen Colour

Your chargepoint isn’t just a piece of tech. It’s a bit of craftsmanship and a timeless feature of your home. Each unit features a sturdy metal body, sprayed and finished right here in our UK factory.

When you placed your order, you picked the colour, and we’ve made it bespoke just for you. Whether you went for something bold to stand out or a subtle shade to blend into your home, our team has carefully crafted it to your specs. It’s not mass produced; it’s personal, built to last and look good while doing it. We take pride in that hands-on approach: it’s the family business way.

Type 2 Charge Port or Type 2 Tethered Cable

Depending on the option you went for, your charger will either come with a Type 2 charging port or a built-in (tethered) Type 2 charging cable. Both are industry-standard and compatible with any electric vehicle out there, so you’re covered no matter what you drive.

If you chose the untethered version with the Type 2 port, you’ll use your own Type 2 cable - just plug it into the port and connect it to your EV. Nice and flexible!

Opted for the tethered model? Your built-in Type 2 cable is always ready to go, neatly coiled and waiting to juice up your car. It’s all about making charging as smooth as possible, tailored to how you like it.

Charge Socket Door

The spring-loaded charge socket door prevents water and dirty from entering the socket.

Courtesy Light

The courtesy lights, included on the 7 Plus and above, will turn on automatically when the charge socket door is opened. They will turn off after 25 seconds. The lights help you to charge the car in at night or in a dark garage.

Status Light: Your Charger’s Way of Talking to You

One of the handiest features of your Simpson & Partners chargepoint is the status light. It’s like a little window into what’s going on, using colours to keep you in the loop without needing to dig out the manual every time. Here’s what each colour means.

The status light is designed to be intuitive, so with a quick glance, you’ll know exactly what’s happening. It’s one of those small touches we’ve added to take the guesswork out of charging and keep things stress-free.

Override Button

The override button can be used to manually override a schedule without using the app. If you need to charge your car right now rather than waiting for the schedule, you can press this button.

Built for You

Whether you’re all about the convenience of a tethered cable, the versatility of a Type 2 port, or the custom look of your hand-finished charger, your chargepoint is built to fit your life. Pair that with the status light keeping you clued in, and you’ve got a setup that’s as dependable as it is easy to use. We’re a family business, and we’ve thought hard about what our valued customers really need.
